In fact the optimal height for a greenhouse appears to be 13 feet which allows for better airflow and temperature regulation with most plants getting exposed to mild but consistent temperatures around the bottom of the greenhouse. We recommend choosing a practical height usually a maximum of 9 11 for residential solar greenhouses and then using the adjusted rule of thumb to ensure that the glazing meets the minimum pitch for light transmission. The light gets reflected much better and lessens those shadows and potential issues on the plants. Builders continue to raise their roofs with every build.
